do i need serum 2 and analog lab?

only for the preset banks. drums, one shots, midis and loops obviously work without them. the serum presets were made for serum 2.1.5 and the analog lab presets for analog lab 5.11.2.6235.

is this just another huge pack full of filler?

no. color 2 was built around sounds you can actually use in underground production, not hundreds of random presets added just to make the number bigger. the presets, one shots, loops, midis and drums are all made to fit the same sound. made while actually creating beats in that sound.

what kind of sounds are actually inside?

the kit is focused on the sounds you hear in current underground electronic and rap production — plucks, synths, basses, textures, melodies and drums designed to work together. you can preview all the sounds above before buying.

are the loops royalty free?

yes — the included loops are royalty free for releases up to 1,000,000 combined streams. all terms of usage are also available in the PDF file inside the kit.

do the loops come with stems?

yes. the loops include stems so you can rearrange them, remove parts and turn them into something completely different instead of being stuck with the original loop.

is this only useful for one specific genre?

short answer - no. the sound is centered around the current underground electronic / rap space, but the kit is made to give you building blocks you can flip into your own style instead of forcing you into one exact type of beat.

why not just download a bunch of separate preset banks and drum kits?

because then you still have to dig through different packs hoping everything works together.
